This is my journey through the process of building a new home, from lot purchase to move-in. Inspired by A House by the Park, I wanted to share what it was like for me working with the various professionals, artisans and tradespeople who turn ideas into drawings and ultimately into built homes.
In writing each post, I endeavored to bring as broad and balanced a perspective as possible on the issues and decisions I faced along the way. Nevertheless, this perspective is my own and it cannot possibly encompass all the disparate points of view of the people involved. At the time of this writing, over 60,000 single-family homes were being completed in the United States every month. My experience is just one of countless others who embarked on this journey.
